Social entrepreneurship - a buzz word from a couple of years ago that some people dismiss as unworkable. They believe that it’s not possible to combine good works and good business. I always enjoy discovering companies that just don’t buy into this belief and are enjoying prosperity and social consciousness.
I recently caught a new segment about “World of Good”, a company that works with women in poor countries, helping them bring their craft items to much large markets and create prosperity for everyone in the process.
What started as a good idea in one woman’s world now has venture capital support, online presence through their own web site and in eBay, kiosks in Whole Foods markets, and a growing sense of business success in the middle of economic turmoil.
Watch the segment online and see for yourself - good works and good business belong together.
